A Hispanic man was beaten in Williamsburg early Sunday morning in an alleged hate crime, the New York Daily News reports. According to what NYPD sources told the newspaper, the 25-year-old man was cycling near Leonard and Jackson Streets when two white 20-something men blocked his path and used a skateboard to knock him off his bike. The two assailants then reportedly began kicking and punching the victim, calling him a “fucking immigrant” and telling him “you don’t belong in this country.” The man was taken to Woodhull Hospital with “bruising and swelling on his face and body.” Meanwhile, the police are still looking for the assailants.
