Jon Stewart: Obama Meeting Wasn’t a Secret, But Roger Ailes Meeting Was

Jon Stewart already explained in a Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore cameo that his so-called “secret meeting” with President Obama was actually in the visitor’s log, but apparently he felt the need to elaborate further on his own show — or he just wanted to make a crude sexual joke involving Reagan’s eye socket now that he can’t be fired. “Something is not a secret just because you don’t know about it,” Stewart said on Wednesday’s Daily Show — though he did have one high-profile encounter that was a secret. As Howard Kurtz reported back in 2010, Stewart stopped by Fox News CEO Roger Ailes’s office before an appearance on The O’Reilly Factor. Stewart hints it was also Ailes who ended a phone call by telling him, “This conversation never happened and if you say it did, I’ll deny it,” but we suspect he was just trying to cover up his showdown with the CEO of Arby’s.
