Last night, the Blue Jays, Rays, Marlins, Mets, Indians, Cubs, Royals, White Sox, Twins, Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Mariners, Padres, Dodgers, and Giants all won. This may seem like a random and not-at-all significant series of baseball victories, but every single one of these teams was playing a home game, which meant that home teams went 15-0 for the first time in Major League Baseball history. There have only been 30 MLB teams since 1998, and every team doesn’t play every single night, but this factoid, which will surely show up at trivia nights across America this week, is still pretty impressive since the previous record of home teams going 12-0 was set in 1914. Sports Illustrated notes that “the odds of all home teams winning with a full MLB schedule is 1 in 32,768.”
