Perhaps you were too drunk to notice, but we all made a deal with the devil on Saturday night, gaining an extra hour of Halloween in exchange for several months of leaving work when it’s already pitch black outside. Now we reap what we have sown: The sunset in New York was at 4:51 p.m. today. As NY1 helpfully points out, the next post–5 p.m. sunset won’t happen until January 22, by which point the world might not even exist.
