Armed Man Who Drove Pickup Truck Onto Arkansas State Campus Taken Into Custody

A man with a gun who drove his pickup truck onto the Arkansas State campus and prompted an hour-long standoff with the police has been taken into custody. 

Police quickly surrounded the suspect, who has been identified as Brad Bartelt, when he drove onto the campus, and no shots were fired. Authorities are now very carefully investigating the suspect’s truck, which had an American flag and what appeared to be a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag on it, as it looked like there were two propane tanks in the back, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

According to the Democrat-Gazettea man named Brad Bartelt was injured on a different ASU campus in 2012. 

The campus was put on lockdown after the university announced there was an active-shooter situation; campus has been closed for the rest of the day.
