Because You Don’t Have Enough to Worry About, a Helicopter Just Crash-Landed in a Long Island Intersection

The slush puddles are growing, Trump is winning, the Zika virus is coming, and now you can think about falling helicopters like the one that just crash-landed in the middle of a Long Island suburb. The chopper touched down on Wednesday just before noon near the intersection of West Riviera Drive and West Alhambra Avenue in Lindenhurst. ABC reports that the two men inside, an instructor and a student, walked away from the scene with only minor injuries — they weren’t even taken to the hospital.

The helicopter’s pilot told police he lost power of the two-bladed, single-engine chopper at 700 feet and was forced to make an emergency landing. Residents who witnessed the crash were surprised, to say the least.

Not one pair of magic shoes was discovered at the scene.
