The lowdown
If you’ve been to either the room or the otheroom, you’ll recognize the décor (slate-topped bar, concrete floor, heavy brushed-steel furniture) and drink offerings, displayed in obsessively tidy all-caps handwriting on a chalkboard above the bar: dozens of Eurobrews, seasonal varietals of domestic beer, and wines by the glass. The crowd here, due to the Tribeca location, tends to be somewhat older and more corporate than at the owners’ other two establishments, though the candlelit atmosphere seems more conducive to a tryst than happy hour on the expense account. Secure a nook by the front windows, or one of the high velvet benches along the wall.
