After distributing their upscale hair remedy line for ten years at prestigious salons like John Barrett at Bergdorf Goodman’s and Fodera at the St. Regis, MiN New York opened their first flagship store at the beginning of 2010. With stripped hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, brown leather couches, and dark finishes throughout, this Soho space reads as Italian apothecary meets old New York speakeasy. Along with their eponymous skin- and hair-care lines, MiN New York also offers a variety of grooming products to fill the debonair gentleman’s bathroom. On hand are fragrances by L'Artisan Parfumeur, old-fashion shaving kits by German company Merkur, and English leather toiletry cases. And while there is a decidedly masculine feel here, there are also products such as Linari home fragrances, Mason Pearson brushes, and antique perfume bottles that date back to the 1800s, so it’s unlikely women will feel excluded. — Randi Eichenbaum
