Hair stylist Paul Labrecque set up shop in early 2009 at the CORE club, a private midtown haven that includes a terrace, restaurant, bar, gym, screening room, and library. Though the club is exclusive, you don't have to be a member to book an appointment at the salon. The set-up here is considerably more intimate than his East and West side outposts, with only two hair-cutting stations tucked into a small room among Picasso-decorated walls. Although Labrecque himself is only in one day a week (he rotates between his three salons), the other stylists have gone through Labrecque's rigorous training. The salon is split into men's and women's sides, complete with lush dressing rooms with private changing areas, lockers, and steam rooms. The spacious spa floor is a chic sanctuary with curved wood walls where customers can get rubbed down, buffed, and lasered in either solo or couples sessions. Aside from the endless list of expert services and special packages, one of the best parts of booking Labrecque at CORE is the access you get to the club's impressive art collection (members' pieces rotate throughout the year), chesterfield-filled library, and the relaxing balcony.

This airy salon and spa, masterminded by a London-trained stylist who originally landed a coveted slot in the Reebok Sports Club NY before expanding to two other locations, is a safe bet for any style. For a pre-wedding spa party, the staff will pamper the bride—and up to nineteen of her friends—by tending to hair, makeup, and nails (from $500). They also do on-site work.
