Yin Beauty & Arts owner Kai Bao doesn't buy into that old saying about beauty being only skin deep. The serious skin and body treatments available at her day spa are designed around the principals of feng shui, and stress the importance of inner balance and removal of toxins in achieving outer results. Even her facials were created with energy balancing in mind, with relaxing masks and massages topping off standard extractions and exfoliations. Above all, body treatments aim to restore positive energy and flush out toxins, but the most popular of them, the slimming treatment, also promises to burn fat over a series of sessions through a combination of essential oils, body wrapping, heat, and deep (read: painful) massage of problem areas. Most treatments require a prior consultation so that a client's lifestyle may be analyzed, and combined therapy—like acupuncture, lymphatic drainage, and herbal cleansing—is often recommended.
