Quadrum Global’s brand of Arlo Hotels joins a sweep of micro-hotels across midtown with Arlo NoMad. The hotel has 250 boutique-style micro-rooms, averaging 150 square feet, that are organized by format — Sky, City, Urban, and Terrace, which has a private, furnished outdoor space larger than the room itself. Besides the usual king- and queen-size rooms, the hotel also, unexpectedly, has “bunk” rooms with twin bunk beds. All rooms feature multi-functional walnut furniture (under-bed storage, custom pegboard closet system), free fiber Wi-Fi, Bluetooth radio, LED TVs, bedside USB charging stations, and luxury touches like glass-enclosed rain showers with handmade porcelain tiles. Arlo SoHo, similarly, offers micro-rooms with a four-star slant downtown. Partnering with renowned chefs Dale Talde (of Talde in Park Slope), David Massoni, and John Bush, the team opens Massoni, a restaurant connecting the cuisines of Italy and East Asia. Talde and his crew also operate a second-floor bar named BARlo; a takeout spot called Bodega, an upscale ode to New York City bodegas; and the rooftop bar the Heights, with views of the Empire State Building and an Instagram-worthy glass floor that projects over 31st Street.

Blind Barber’s products, which complete every room with shampoo and soap amenities made exclusively for the hotel, have become so popular that they are now sold at the hotel’s bodega. The hotel also offers complimentary rentals of custom Priority Bicycles (locks included) in the spring through fall.

The hotel does not offer room service, but the Bodega is available 24 hours.
