Whole Roasted Pears in Red Wine and Cinnamon

Ingredients

4 Bosc pears

2 cups red wine

1 cup sugar

1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Trim the bottom off each pear, and place upright in a sauté pan. Add the red wine, sprinkle the sugar over the top of the pears, add the cinnamon, and bake for 45 minutes or until tender and the pears are nicely caramelized from the sugar. Spoon the caramelized red wine over the pears, and serve with zabaglione. (Published 2014)
