The lowdown

One of the original arrivals to Park Slope’s restaurant row, Convivium Osteria feels like an Italian farmhouse that’s been transplanted to Brooklyn’s Fifth Avenue. Antipasti courses include classics like burrata, braised artichokes, or plates filled with cheese and salumi. Primi and secondi courses are similarly traditional: perhaps you’d be interested in some tagliatelle with beef-and-veal ragù, followed by braised rabbit with olives? There is nothing genre-bending or unexpected about a meal here, which is probably why it remains one of the neighborhood’s most beloved Italian restaurants, two decades after it first opened.
