When Fany Gerson’s ode to yeasted doughnuts featuring Latin American flavors opened in 2010, people would often line up down the block to get one of her oversized creations. These days, things have calmed down — thanks to another location in Manhattan and a profitable wholesale arm that’s put Dough doughnuts in cafés across the city — but people still flock to the little shop in Bed-Stuy to get just-made treats in flavors like blood orange, dulce de leche, hibiscus, passionfruit, and chocolate chipotle. And don’t miss the doughkas, babkas made from doughnut dough, a nod to Gerson’s Mexican-Jewish heritage.
