Tourists line up daily for a chance to try the coal-fired pies at one of the biggest names in Brooklyn pizza.

1 Front St., Brooklyn, NY, 11201

Known For

The lowdown

Even if you’ve never had them yourself, you’ve no doubt heard tale of the legendary coal-fired pizzas served at this Dumbo staple — and so has every tourist in New York City. The lines are as fabled as the pies, but since this location has spawned something of a chain, it’s hard to say those pizzas are quite worth the waits that form on busy weekend afternoons. (It’s also worth noting that Patsy Grimaldi himself is famously involved with Juliana’s, the pizza place that stands where the original Grimaldi’s once did — and which is so close that the lines tend to back into each other. )

What you need to know

Insider Tips Know before you go: Grimaldi’s is cash-only.
