Known For

The lowdown

Milk Bar may have started as a feisty offshoot of David Chang’s Momofuku Noodle Bar, but since this first location opened in the East Village in 2008, Christina Tosi and her nostalgia-tinged desserts and bites have more than stepped into their own (and dropped “Momofuku” from the name). Though most of the baking is now done at offsite factories, Tosi’s creations, including the sickly sweet crack pie, cereal-milk soft serve, cream-cheese-stuffed bagel bombs, and birthday cakes with exposed sides, remain as popular as ever.
