The lowdown

Miss Ada comes veterans of the city’s dining scene including chef-owner Tomer Blechman, an alum of New York standbys like Lupa and Bar Bolonat. The menu is mostly Middle Eastern in spirit, with a few Eastern European ingredients like smoked herring, alongside five types of hummus, housemade labne, and grilled octopus with eggplant purée. But it also covers the bases of a New York neighborhood spot with straightforward entrées like brick chicken with harissa and, an excellent hanger steak with succotash and shishito pepper. To complement the savory menu, there are sweets like phyllo-pastry kanafeh with goat cheese, and a labne mousse with poached mango and apple granita.
