The lowdown

Tyler Kord’s American-leaning bistro opened in Fort Greene more than a decade ago, and in that time it has remained one of the better options in a neighborhood overflowing with great restaurants. Cocktails remain a strength, and they ensure that the front bar area is consistently full. The food menu feels looser and more casual than it was way back in 2008, but Kord’s fascination with both broccoli and surprising flavor juxtapositions is as strong as ever. Dishes like calamari with honeydew cocktail sauce or double-decker broccoli tacos help ensure that No. 7 remains much more interesting than any run-of-the-mill bistro.
