The team behind Williamsburg cocktails-and-oysters den Maison Premiere is behind this handsome restaurant adjacent to McCarren Park. Drinks are, no surprise, a focus, with plenty of natural wines, dozens of spirits, and a handful of cocktails like a Pastis Cobbler to sip at the French-walnut bar. But unlike its sister bar, food is the main concern here: While the menu was initially French-y New American and received a fair amount of praise, especially for its pig-head confit, it’s moved in a more straightforward American direction. Think smoked-corn tagliatelle with whatever’s in season, and a smoked cheddar cheeseburger.
