New York restaurateur Gabriel Stulman has carved out a niche for himself in the West Village, the neighborhood that houses his collection of laid-back spots that also tend to be what you might call cozy. He’s branched out of that neighborhood with a series of projects inside the Freehand Hotel New York. One is the all-day Studio, where the food is New American with references to Stulman’s Sephardic heritage and the space is bright and roomy — it won’t feel cramped when you’re lingering over a spread of dishes while reading the morning news.
