Few of the highly touted restaurants in the new Hudson Yards complex fit as seamlessly into the vapid, featureless mega-mall terroir as this professionally run, generically posh, outlandishly expensive new Thomas Keller outlet. Many of the opulent 20th-century dishes — beef Wellington for two, Caesar salad prepared tableside, the Wagyu New York strip — are drawn from Keller’s popular Miami Beach restaurant, the Surf Club, although if you’re a red meat fan and have bundles of cash on hand, one or two of them (the Wellington, the prime rib, the excellent rib eye) are almost worth the steep price of admission.

Insider Tips The beverage director here is Michel Couvreaux, who holds the same title at Per Se, which means the wines are expertly curated but not always a bargain.
