The lowdown
For their third restaurant — their largest to date — the team behind critical darlings Hart’s and Cervo’s keep it simple, serving a limited menu that revolves around rotisserie chicken and natural wines from around the world. There’s also an impressive cocktail menu featuring upscale takes on old classics like lemon drops and white negronis, but the bartenders won’t chastise patrons who opt for a $5 Bud instead. Chicken options include a half chicken (ideal for three or four people) or the whole thing, both served with a tangy, yogurt-based white sauce, as well as well-spiced French fries, long-cooked greens, or a simple chopped salad on the side. The Fly’s ethos is about sharing plates, but solo diners who order the aioli-schmeared chicken sandwich and a glass of Beaujolais at the 22-seat wraparound bar will be just as satisfied.
