Profile

If it's beauty you're after, you really have to go to The Bathroom. This airy, artfully shabby-chic nook carries high-end bath and body products--more than 3,000 of them, in fact, on its antiqued shelves. Former investment banker and British expat Colin Heywood stocks his shop's shelves with items from the States, United Kingdom, Italy, France and Japan, many of which aren't available anywhere else in the city; quite a few potions--like Lollia bubble bath, Dr Hauschka holistic skincare, Komenuka Bijan shampoo and Molten Brown's full line--barely even stay on the shelves. Freshly scented potpourri, room sprays, candles and fragrant reeds (from Antica Farmacista) make the shop itself smell wonderfully inviting. Bathroom accessories are also on hand.
