Profile

This online brand opened its first brick and mortar showroom in Fall 2011 to display its continually expanding stock of washed chinos in colors both loud and subdued, raw selvage denim, patterned button-downs, and seasonal items like swimwear and corduroys. There are shoes and accessories by brands like Sebago, Grenson, and Coal, too, but you can’t actually take anything home with you except a particular style of selvage denim, which is not carried online. Although they do take walk-ins, most customers schedule a 45-minute appointment with a “Guide,” who acts as a personal shopper to help you find items that you’ll order online before you leave. (With free shipping). The space itself is accordingly intimate, just big enough for the two appointments they keep at any given hour. Blonde wood armoires present button-downs in plaid and gingham, plus non-iron workaday slacks in five neutral colors, one for each day of the work week. Behind a small bar lit by hanging, naked bulbs, canvas plimsolls and cap-toe lace-ups share shelf space with vintage beer steins and taxidermied antlers. A rack of seasonal suits (sold as separates) anchors the opposite wall.
