Profile

This venue is closed.

When boutique veteran Alissa Emerson and former Wall Street apparel analyst Valerie Feigen opened Edit, in 2007, they envisioned a shop where their favorite collections were edited down to only the most covetable items. That philosophy inspires their lavish, two-story boutique’s selection of choice pieces from over 50 high-end designers, including Michael Kors denim, Henry Beguelin handbags, and flowing Marchesa gowns. Pristine white walls contrast with polished black floors, and a chandelier of cascading glass overhead accents the high ceiling. Designer aesthetic dictates the layout, with industry leaders like Derek Lam and Martin Grant displayed up front, casual day brands like Raven Denim and Christopher Fischer cashmere filling a smaller room in back, and contemporary lines like Charles Chang-Lima on the second floor. Spouses and boyfriends can lounge in front of a fireplace and flat-screen TV in the comfortable seating area upstairs. In addition, in-store stylists are on hand to offer accessory suggestions with accent pieces like Temple St. Clair’s colored gemstone jewelry or towering heels from names like K. Jacques and Calleen Cordero.

Extra

Edit has a wet bar on the second floor and its own garden for special events like book parties, school fund-raisers, or scotch tastings.
