Hairy Mary’s Vintage sells a tightly edited collection of well preserved twentieth-century garments that quirky girls can wear right off the rack. Gold pleated pantsuits from the seventies sit next to paisley jumpers from the sixties; fifties prom dresses with crisp lace overlays pair with glamorous beaded evening coats and smart leather jackets. Even one-piece swimsuits from the forties have a place for vintage hounds looking to bring a little Ethel Merman style to Brighton Beach. An eclectic range of shoes lines the space, including a white ruched-leather bootie from the “Like a Virgin” eighties of Madonna (in her first iteration). For those who just want a touch of vintage for their otherwise contemporary wardrobe, there are sparkly brooches, leather coin purses and handbags, and a small but strong collection of hats. But perhaps most popular are owner Sharon Broit’s own infinitely wearable tanks and tube dresses constructed from vintage materials. — Katie Hintz
