West Village womenswear boutique Helianthus ("sunflower" in Greek) unveiled this second location in April 2009. Swirly floral designs deck lavender walls, and colorful sunglasses and clutches are propped on white shelves. The newer outpost has a slightly higher-end slant than the original, offering breezy dresses, skirts, and work-to-weekend tops from labels like Karen Walker, Ulla Johnson, Bensoni, Pencey, Dallin Chase, and Wren. Draping chains from Bliss Lau and baubles by Ioselliani dangle on racks beside affordable costume jewelry from a smattering of Japanese designers. Owner Grace Wang, an FIT grad, also carries her own Helianthus line at the newer store, featuring funky chiffon, cotton, and silk dresses with feminine touches, like vintage lace and subdued ruffles ($100–$250). — Lauren Murrow
