Profile
Owner Angela Silva spent a year researching merchandise and design before opening Joinery in December of 2011. The shop is filled with clothing, accessories, textiles, and housewares from small designers who are on the verge of making it big—in other words, there are goods that can’t be found anywhere else. Men’s and women’s clothing sit on opposite sides of the room, and various housewares like apple slicers and colanders are displayed on a long, rectangular table in the middle; there are also blankets and woven rugs from Brazil on triangular shelving in the rear. It’s an eclectic mix, but the common theme is that all the items are simple, beautiful, and excellently made.
