Only one rule dictates what’s sold inside this interior-design haven: If co-owner Achuziam Maha-Sanchez can picture it inside one of her four imaginary homes, it belongs. There’s the fancy Tribeca loft; her cozy cottage in the Hamptons; a kind of tropical cabana; and, lastly, her Brooklyn brownstone. These widely encompassing criteria are an international affair, too. Baskets made from recycled magazines come from Indonesia. Sisal-woven market bags come from Kenya. And next to these items are plenty from local designersódining-room china depicting a Liberian village scene, for example, is from Queens-based Barbara Garnes of SoHe Designs. Maha-Sanchez and her husband, Lionel Sanchez, also sell soaps and butter creams, scented candles and coffee table books, and furniture, some of which Maha-Sanchez designs herself. Her reupholstered, alder-wood dining chair cushioned with men’s-suit fabric recalls a Fifth Avenue apartment, while the quilted, metallic-vinyl headboard she designed belongs in her Tribeca loft. All of the inventory fits on a spectrum, from serene to eccentric (as the shop name suggests), and if customers aren’t sure of the direction they want to go with their kitchen or living room, the husband-wife duo can provide interior-design expertise, for a small charge.
