Located next door to high-end urban culture emporium Reed Space, Reed Annex features many of the same labels as its sister store—except the styles aren’t as new and everything is priced at 30 to 70 percent less. Owner and creative director Jeff Ng tries to make hip-hop and skateboard-culture-inspired tees, hoodies, hats, and windbreakers from labels like Crooks & Castles, Acapulco Gold, Mishka, 10 Deep, and Ng’s own Staple accessible to a broader audience by offering lower price points. Inside Reed Annex, stacks of modified shipping crates topped with glass hold neat piles of bright tees with bold prints. And a cluster of vertical cardboard poster tubes topped with tempered safety glass serves as the cashier counter, where retro sunglasses by In4mation are displayed.
