Profile
New York brahs Morgan Collett, Josh Rosen, and Colin Tunstall launched this Soho surf and coffee shop after years of weekend surf trips to Rockaway Beach. The narrow, sparse space is fronted by an espresso bar serving La Colombe coffee and daily-changing baked goods. In back the small store is packed with boards, gear, surf-themed photo books, and wetsuits, along with SoCal apparel from labels like Idol Radec, Hurley, and RVCA, and the Saturdays Surf in-house line. Shoppers expecting Endless Summer-style grunge are in for a bummer—the assortment of plaid button down shirts, slim-cut pants, and board shorts is sharp and modern, and the chic clientele look like vicarious beach bums, at best. Though there’s no interior seating, the 500-square-foot patio in back reopens each spring, strewn with tables and chairs for laptop toting regulars and evening film screenings.
