After fourteen years in the Meadowlands, the New York Red Bulls of the MLS have decamped for a considerably more soccer-friendly home. The new $200 million Red Bull Arena—located just three blocks from the path station in Harrison, New Jersey—is intimate (25,000 seats, compared with Giants Stadium’s 82,000); closer to the action (the front row sits just seven yards from the field); and similar in look and feel to European football temples (the part-translucent fiberglass roof shelters the crowd but leaves the pitch exposed to the elements).
