1. Start on Thursday evening, when comedian and delightfully irreverent talk-show host Catie Lazarus kicks off the fall season of her Employee of the Month series with Maya Rudolph, Laura Benanti, and Isaac Oliver and plenty of laughs.
2. Then let loose with some dancing. EDM megastar Kaskade gets back to his roots with an intimate show at the Red Hook Grain Terminal on Saturday.
3. While on the same evening, Diplo takes the stage at Flash Factory, as his label’s Mad Decent Block Party tour winds down for the summer.
4. Do some good while chilling with some tunes on Thursday at the D’Addario Foundation Music Makes You benefit for music education. Performers include Karen O. and Nick Zinner, with Blake Mills, Kaki King, and more.
5.Or continue the music-for-a-cause streak on Saturday, with the humongous Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, with performances by Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Demi Lovato, Major Lazer, and Metallica. There’s still time to earn a free ticket.
6. Do something a little more low-key with Morrissey at Kings Theater on Saturday, Adele at MSG, or Brian Wilson doing Pet Sounds at the Beacon.
7. Or on Sunday stop by the Bell House for Adam Conover’s Adam Ruins Everything. Hopefully, he does not ruin your good time.
8. This week, Photoville, the free modular exhibition and celebration of all things photography, returns to Brooklyn Bridge Plaza with curatorial partners including Instagram, National Geographic, and the Pulitzer Center. Stop by for talks, workshops, and, if you’re hungry, food from Smorgasburg.
9. While up in Queens, the World Science Festival’s City of Science stops off on Sunday, with free demonstrations and hands-on activities.
10. Hey! Who likes oysters? On Saturday, there’s a wealth of options downtown. Stop by Lot 45 on Friday for pairings of oysters and cocktails or the Fulton Stall Market on Saturday for oysters and live music, and also cocktails. Also on Saturday over at the plaza in front of Pier A Harbor House, they’re shucking 30,000 Bluepoint oysters from Long Island, and someone’s got to eat them all, along with mini lobster rolls, swordfish tacos, and pints of Guinness. May as well be you.
11. Or stuff your face at the First Annual John “Cha Cha” Ciarcia Meatball Eating Contest on Saturday at the Feast of San Gennaro, dedicated to the GoodFellas actor and introduced by Tony Danza. And whatever he says goes because, you know, he’s the boss. Happy weekend!
