It all began with Henry James’ Washington Square. The book became a play in 1947, and now, Moisés Kaufman’s revival of the stage adaptation is being touted by theater critics across the country as “lovely to look at”, “handsomely done” with “superb, subtle direction.”
Starring Academy Award® nominee Jessica Chastain and Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens (Matthew Crawley), The Heiress tells the story of Catherine Sloper, a wealthy resident of Washington Square during the 1800s. Caught between a suspicious, emotionally distant father and a complicated relationship with a potential love interest, let’s just say Catherine doesn’t have the best luck with the opposite sex.
