Little by Little is a through-composed musical by folks who should be through composing – also writing and directing. As produced by the York Theatre Company, it looks like an understudy rehearsal for a show that never opened, and does not even afford us the benison of an intermission during which to escape. It is about a love triangle and manages, if not to square the circle, at least to render the triangle perfectly square.
