Light a Fire

Unlike many new grills, Weber’s sharp new Q doesn’t purport to replace your kitchen, turn you into a star chef, or transform your patio into a state-of-the-art entertainment area. It’s just a grill (800-446-1071; weber.com). Actually, it’s two grills in one—it’s got all the power you need for serious backyard barbecuing, and it’s portable enough to take to the beach (an optional rolling cart folds up suitcase-style for easy transport). And at $199 (plus $49 for the cart), it’s a whole lot of lamb kebabs cheaper than its spiffed-up competition.
