A wind turbine in Coimbatore, India, caught fire last month while operational. It is very worrying, but it doesn’t look like anybody got hurt. So sad for that turbine and the people who built and own the turbine!
On the other hand, it looks really cool.
It’s got a big column of smoke and then a neat spiral of smoke as well. I was not very concerned with renewable energy but now I’m all in. More wind turbines on fire, please.
According to the video’s description, the conflagration was the result of faulty wiring, which caused the turbine to operate at higher-than-normal speeds.
