There are a few odd things about the new shop Fair Folks & a Goat. The name, yes, but also the location (on the third floor of a ritzy townhouse on the Upper East Side, a neighborhood not known for funkiness) and the by-appointment edict. The diverse selection, as shown here, more than makes up for the eccentricities (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The Pablo coffee table ($760) can be dimmed or brightened to set the right mood, like a giant light box.
A necklace ($98) by Fort Greene designer Toujours Toi is a fun statement piece, minus the hefty price tag.
Kueng Caputo’s wild cardboard centerpieces ($30) can be arranged to create a variety of scenes.
