If you’re looking for a gift for a geek, a scientist, a health-care worker, or just someone with a perverse sense of humor, then check out the marvelous collection of Giant Plush Microbes at ThinkGeek.com. Nasty little pathogens ranging from E. Coli to Treponema pallidum (Syphillis) have been magnified exponentially and rendered as adorable little plush toys measuring roughly 5 to 7 inches in length. I’m particularly fond of Rhinovirus (the common cold, pictured), which looks so sweet, so innocent, so harmless. ThinkGeek, by the way, is a great site to visit whenever you’re gift-hunting for a kid or a teenage boy. Or an adult boy.
