My new favorite destination for hard-to-shop-for dorks and adult children: Playthings Past, an addictive site that functions as a trippy nostalgia tour for Gen Xers and baby-boomers. Hello Colorforms, Care Bears, Rock ’em Sock ’em Robots, and Strawberry Shortcake! There are also plenty of new takes on classics, like the Atari key-chain series (multiple old-school console-style games like Pong, Breakout, and Warlords on a teeny palm-size unit that hooks up to any TV), as well as contemporary stuff, like an awesome Family Guy version of Uno.
Various prices (e.g., $13.99 for the Atari key chains) at PlaythingsPast.com.
