If you’ve got a bunch of old vinyl at home—or, given that vinyl is resurgent in certain quarters (like Williamsburg record stores), a bunch of new vinyl—the easiest way I’ve found to create MP3s from those LPs or 45s is the new Ion Audio TTUSB10 turntable. Like its popular predecessor model, it’s incredibly easy to use: You just plug it into a USB port on your Mac or PC, and the included, easy-to-install-and-run software automatically rips tracks that you can upload to any MP3 player. The older version, bizarrely, didn’t have a dust cover; this baby does, and feels sturdier over all.
