Greenpointers who lap up the under-$100, Anthropologie-like pieces at Franklin Street stalwart Dalaga will find a similar selection now that the boutique’s former buyer, Jade Elzien, has opened Violet Pepper (688 Manhattan Ave., nr. Norman Ave., Greenpoint; 718-383-0869). Elzien stripped down the slat-walled interior of the previous tenant—a prim, Polish-run boutique called Pretty Lady—revealing airy pressed-tin ceilings, and installed raw-wood racks of Marnie-meets-Jessa womenswear: cream-colored three-quarter-sleeve lace blouses by Cooper and Ella ($78), silky black tiered maxi-skirts by English Rose ($75), 2 Bandits’ southwestern-inspired silver jewelry (from $98), and Bass tasseled loafers ($99). Elzien will offer 10 percent off storewide for the grand opening September 13 through 15, as well as complimentary violet-colored cocktails from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
