The Strategist’s Top 10 Stories of 2016

Our year’s most popular included the under-$100 Brookstone suitcase, Beatbo, and Japanese nail clipper.

Since we launched the Strategist earlier this year, it’s been our aim to help you solve life’s little online-shopping conundrums. We’ve found the thermos that will keep your coffee piping hot, the best wireless workout headphones, and the $70 robe that is cozy beyond all belief. (Sometimes we solve the problems you didn’t even know you had, like how to exfoliate your feet or eliminate coffee-table condensation — or where to find gifts for everyone you almost forgot.) But of the hundreds of posts that we’ve run this year, these are the ten top performers. Some were not surprising (the best sheets according to New York bigwigs, was obviously going to be popular), while others were more head-scratching: Who would have thunk so many of you value a perfectly crafted toenail clipper?

The Strategist is a new site designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best notebook, black T-shirts, fashion-editor-approved jeans, toothbrush, and apartment décor. Note that all prices are subject to change.
