As we noted a few weeks ago, Walmart has a surprisingly large selection of expensive-looking mid-century-modern-inspired furniture that is extremely affordable (and often on sale). Another example: This really stately linen-upholstered bed that you can just plop your mattress on top of (it’s designed with a “bentwood slat support system,” meaning it does not require a box spring). We love the elegant wooden legs, and how nice this looks alongside a bird-of-paradise plant. Incidentally, here’s another on-sale bed from Wayfair that we quite like.
