While doing my regular internet sleuthing, I noticed that right now, there is a lot of makeup on deep sale. While I might not be wearing half as much makeup in quarantine as I did pre-pandemic, these bargain-basement deals are the moment to do what I like to call “tactical shopping” — or stocking up on products I’m going to want to have in my arsenal, even if I won’t really use them until we’re allowed back out into the world. Below, I’ve rounded up the five best products I found on deep sale. All are things I love or have long wanted, all are more than 50 percent off, and although the retailers don’t advertise how long the discounts will last, the fact that I’ve never seen them priced this low is enough to assume it won’t be for long.
This Kylie Bronze palette is something I’ve long coveted, but $45 just felt a little steep for the size. So many beauty gurus I follow and trust (like Joanna Spicer) have reported that this is the one of their all-time favorite creamy and pigmented neutral palettes that they constantly reach for. It’s allegedly great for achieving both a subtle, daytime wash of bronze on the lid or a brown smoky eye for the evening.
Everything from Flesh, a minimalist, easy-to-use makeup line created by Allure founder Linda Wells, is currently on sale at Ulta right now. This highlighter, in particular, is one of my favorites — it’s pearlescent yet buildable, so it’s perfect for both a subtle daytime sheen or a brighter evening glow. It’s also very easy to work with: Drop a little on your hand and tap it along your cheekbones, brow bone, and bridge of your nose with your fingers.
Another one of my favorites from the Flesh collection. It’s a wonderfully creamy, buildable foundation stick with a dewy finish that makes your skin look insanely radiant. On days where I want just a little zhuzh, I warm this product up on my fingers and pat it just in areas where I need the coverage — under my eyes, around the nose, and on any dark marks. But on days where I want a bit more, I apply four small swipes on my forehead, cheeks, and chin and blend it in with a beauty blender. It never looks like too much.
This lipstick is an actual all-star — it’s lightweight, creamy, and I’m obsessed with basically all of the colors it comes in. The burnt-sienna shade “Rei of Light” is one of my favorites to quickly swipe on before FaceTime happy hours (in the Before Times, I’d wear it on nights out or, if blotted down, to the office). When I’m wearing no makeup at all and put this on, it instantly makes me look put together.
This KVD Beauty Lock-It brush is insanely soft and the perfect shape for dusting setting powder, bronzer, or even blush seamlessly all over the skin. It’s beloved by many a celebrity makeup artist, including Nikki Wolff (who has worked with Dua Lipa and Kendall Jenner).
