While doing my regular internet sleuthing, I noticed that right now, there is a lot of makeup on deep sale. While I might not be wearing half as much makeup in quarantine as I did pre-pandemic, these bargain-basement deals are the moment to do what I like to call “tactical shopping” — or stocking up on products I’m going to want to have in my arsenal, even if I won’t really use them until we’re allowed back out into the world. Below, I’ve rounded up the five best products I found on deep sale. All are things I love or have long wanted, all are more than 50 percent off, and although the retailers don’t advertise how long the discounts will last, the fact that I’ve never seen them priced this low is enough to assume it won’t be for long.
This Kylie Bronze palette is something I’ve long coveted, but $45 just felt a little steep for the size. So many beauty gurus I follow and trust (like Joanna Spicer) have reported that this is the one of their all-time favorite creamy and pigmented neutral palettes that they constantly reach for. It’s allegedly great for achieving both a subtle, daytime wash of bronze on the lid or a brown smoky eye for the evening.
“Oh Miley” — named after singer Miley Cyrus — is a cult-classic red lipstick, beloved by many celebrities (including Selena Gomez) and editors (Jezebel’s former EIC Koa Beck once called it “the blue jeans of red lipstick”). It’s highly pigmented — it lasts from morning to evening, and incorporates cocoa butter and meranti, meaning it won’t make lips dry out or crack.
These ten-second liquid eye shadow products from Kosas are one of my very favorite quick and easy ways to add depth, dimension, or a pop of color to your lids. This warm, glittery gold shade “Supreme” is a perfect, buildable, twinkly sparkle that’s excellent for both daytime or evening wear.
Natasha Denona’s makeup is extremely well-loved (by regulars, and celebrities like Gal Gadot) for its easy-to-apply, blendable formulas that give the skin a gorgeous lit-from-within glow. This palette, in my opinion, is really one of her star products. It’s includes cream and powder highlighters and blushes that deliver a range of finishes (some dewy, some fresh, some bold and glowy). There is something for every day in this palette, and, not to pick favorites, but this may be the best deal in this post.
This full-coverage concealer — which I discovered after watching one of makeup artist Harriet Hadfield’s tutorials — is one of my favorites for knocking the redness off of big ol’ pimples or concealing dark under-eye bags. A tiny little bit of this goes a long way — it’s very pigmented — but it’s creamy and blendable enough that you can easily buff it into the skin so that it’s completely undetectable. I always have this in my makeup bag in case I need to touch up a surprise pimple while I’m out and about.
Pat McGrath is well known for her supremely pigmented, ultra-creamy eyeshadow formulas. This half-off, now-under-$20 petite palette includes a collection of shimmery golds, browns, and rose shades that are very easy to buff or blend into your lids, and it comes in pretty gold Pat packaging.
This KVD Beauty Lock-It brush is supersoft and the perfect shape for dusting setting powder, bronzer, or even blush seamlessly onto the skin. It’s beloved by many a celebrity makeup artist, including Nikki Wolff (who has worked with Dua Lipa and Kendall Jenner).
[Editor’s Note: This brush is now out of stock at Sephora, but you can sign up for an email alert when it is available again. It is in-stock at KVD, though!]
