When we first spotted Upper East Siders strolling the streets in the Orolay puffer, the jacket was still mostly under the radar and priced at less than $100. Then the coat went viral and demand drove the price up to $140, where it has sat since. But today, following its blink-or-you’ll-miss-it appearance in last night’s Celebrating America inauguration special (where one of our editors spotted it on someone shown during Demi Lovato’s performance), we found the Orolay jacket — a.k.a. the Amazon Coat — on sale for just $90, the cheapest we’ve seen it in two years. (While Orolay claims the coat is marked down from $247, we’ve never seen it priced that high.) It’s an excellent price considering that you can still get a lot of milage out of the super-warm coat this winter, what with all the outdoor socializing still to come, and then wear it again as a (basically) brand-new jacket come next fall.
