21 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy: From Chacos to Cuisinart

Our end-of-week sweep through the internet’s sale bins turned up lots of in-season deals for enjoying the warmer weather both indoors and out — many of which we’ve written about before — from sales at Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Madewell. There are some expert-recommended hiking sandals from Chaco, one Strategist writer’s favorite insulated travel cup, a set of educational building blocks for kids, even a “sensibly designed” carry-on from Away for post-pandemic travel. (And if you want more sales coverage, sign up for our email newsletter.)

Here’s an insulated backpack that’ll fit all of your snacks and water bottles on your next socially distanced day hike or beach day.

This retro-style toaster features extra-wide slots and six different heat levels, meaning it can toast everything from frozen waffles to sliced bagels.

There are lots of in-season deals to be found at Nordstrom’s Spring Sale, like this lightweight bomber jacket that’s still available in sizes S to 3XL.

Here’s a vintage-inspired pullover from rarely on-sale Sweaty Betty in a spring-appropriate wasabi green. (But if neutrals are more your style, it comes in black, navy, and blush, too, though sizing is more limited.)

We found our favorite gorpcore-ish slippers for men in a cozy, water-resistant merino wool, which would be perfect for taking the dog out or grabbing the mail.

Macy’s is taking up to 30 percent off select items for men, women, kids, and home with code VIP, including this Zoom-appropriate (and spring-friendly) puffed-sleeve top.

Some bamboo fiber mixing bowls from Cuisinart that look nice enough to double as serving bowls.

Madewell is taking 25 percent off select in-season styles with code HISPRING, including this striped cropped tee that’s still available in sizes XXS to XXL.

These white sneakers have a very similar silhouette to Vans low-top Old Skools or even the Strategist-beloved Veja V-10s, but the calf-hair printed detailing and Yves Klein–blue heel tab make them all their own.

A surprisingly neutral take on tie-dye.

If it’s time to replace your warm-weather hiking shoes, one expert hiker told us that they walked 1,200 miles — comfortably — in a single pair of these Chaco sandals along the Pacific Crest Trail. (And these ones just so happen to come in a charming Smokey Bear print.)

Strategist deputy editor (and certified coffee snob) Maxine Builder swears by her Hydro Flask tumbler, which keeps hot liquids warm for up to 6 hours, or cold liquids cool for up to 24.

Anthropologie’s sale-on-sale continues through the weekend, which means there’s still time to snag this limited-edition graphic throw blanket for just $30.

And because we’re still not ready to slip back into a pair of jeans, here’s a pair of tapered pants in a supersoft polyester blend.

If you want a tablet for both “watching stuff and reading stuff,” you can’t do much better than the Fire HD — and we’ve never seen it this cheap.

These wooden building blocks from Tegu frequently appear on our lists of best toys for kids, as they’re fit for kids of all ages and promote early STEM and math skills.

Osmo - Base for iPad

To make remote learning more engaging, one teacher we spoke to recommends this now-under-$30 Osmo iPad attachment, which allows kids to play hands-on educational games and practice drawing.

Another in-season gem, we found this smocked gingham midi dress — to be styled with a ’90s-inspired baguette bag — in Bloomingdales’ reliably good sale bins.

Along with these statement sneakers from Puma for him, which are still available in most sizes between 8 and 12.

In case you missed it earlier this week, Away is having a surprise sale on lots of its best-selling suitcases, and, as we expected, colors have started selling out — but you can still pick up this brick-red option, which frequent travelers have called the best hard-shell, rolling carry-on.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
