For this week’s Don’t DillyDally, we’ve rounded up a range of products we think will sell out, including a watch from the Fossil x Space Jam collection, a new scent from Boy Smells, and matching sets by Ouai x Set Active.
Space Jam x Fossil
Space Jam’s much-hyped sequel is set to come out on July 16, and there are reportedly 200 brand collaborations to commemorate the release. One of those collabs is with classic watchmaker Fossil. Each watch face features one of the film franchise’s most recognizable characters and a color-coordinated silicone watch band (which can be swapped for leather for an additional fee). Each watch also comes with a limited-edition tin that features a cartoon LeBron James along with characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. For something that doesn’t scream Tune Squad fan, we recommend the Daffy Duck watch, which has the iconic duck inside the watch’s face, subtle orange inlay, and a sleek black band.
Boy Smells Pride Collection
Boy Smells’ yearlong Pride campaign continues with the release of Marble Fruit, a fruity, spicy fragrance that has notes of pear, nectarine, jasmine, and musk. It’s the latest in the brand’s “genderful” fragrance lineup, which brings together both traditionally masculine and traditionally feminine scents. Through the end of July, Boy Smells is donating 10 percent of its sales from the Pride Collection to the Trevor Project, with a minimum donation of $100,000.
Spike Lee x Montblanc
When we asked writers about the best gifts for writers, they suggested gifting the classic Montblanc Meisterstück Classique fountain pen, which is beloved by authors like Salman Rushdie for its ability to create beautiful, fluid strokes. To riff on the classic, Montblanc has created a limited-edition stationery set in honor of Spike Lee, which includes the Meisterstück, a leather notebook, and bottle of ink. The pen and the notebook are decorated with an illustration of the director’s bespectacled eyes, and the pen’s nib is etched with his signature. The launch is incredibly limited — there are only 500 pieces worldwide — making it an ideal gift for the Do The Right Thing superfan.
Smithsonian x Tucker and Tate
Inspired by items in the Smithsonian, Nordstrom’s in-house kids brand Tucker and Tate has teamed with the museum on a collection of cotton pajamas. There are two styles to choose from — short sleeves and shorts or long sleeves and leggings — and an array of prints: glow-in-the-dark bugs, architectural-looking plane specs, and one that looks like a flight suit. They’re all very cute and vaguely educational.
Le Creuset debuted a new colorway, called Cayenne. The shade is available in a wide array of their most popular cookware pieces, including a few sizes of the round Dutch oven, which we’ve called the gold standard of cast-iron enameled cookware.
Outer Banks x Volcom
Netflix’s Outer Banks is back for another season, and to celebrate, the streaming service teamed up with Volcom on a clothing collection inspired by the show’s motifs. There’s lots of tie-dye and screen tees calling out the show’s fictional town of Kildare, along with this fun ringer tee that says “Free John B.”
Set Active x Ouai
Ouai has a knack for buzzy collaborations (see: Off White, Byredo, Pizzaslime). Its latest is with Set Active, an athleisure brand favored by celebrities like Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber, and Kendall Jenner, that makes stretchy, monochrome athleisure sets. The collaboration takes the brand’s most popular matching sets and gives them a Ouai-inspired makeover, applying the products’ muted hues to the outfits and swapping out the brand’s “SET” logo for “OUAI.” We anticipate these will go quickly, so if you see something you like, don’t dillydally.
