My Favorite Bamboo Cutting Board (That I Wrote About for Bon Appétit) Is 30 Percent Off

I already professed my love for this cutting board a couple of years ago, back when I worked at Bon Appétit — and what I can tell you today is that those feelings still stand. What I can also tell you today is that said cutting board, a sizable bamboo number from Food52’s own brand Five Two, is 30 percent off at Nordstrom right now. (In fact, lots of Five Two products are on sale, so poke around.)

It’d be a good investment at the full $59, in my opinion, and definitely so at $41. The cutting board is the ideal size: big enough to carve a chicken or chop long vegetables like celery without the pieces spilling everywhere. It feels substantial but not too heavy, easy to pull out every day and also to clean. It has a moat on one side to catch juices and a pour spout to facilitate saving them should you want to. I’m not one for kitchenware gimmicks, but the side opposite of the moat is completely flat, save for a small slot to prop up your phone. I was skeptical I would ever use this feature, but it truly comes in handy all the time, both for looking at recipes and for FaceTiming while cooking (which, yes, I often do). In my mind, this sets this already pretty perfect cutting board over the top and makes it something worth writing about — twice.
